Skulpturenpark Köln

Tal R (b.1967 in Israel) is known above all as a painter whose intensive, colourful works primarily evoke associations with the world of children's play. But on closer examination things often take different path, and so it can happen that something seemingly harmless can take an uncanny turn and suddenly find itself in a threatening, archaic world. The artist, who today lives in Copenhagen, combines together in his bronzes everyday things, marginalia and discarded junk, and not without a touch of humour, so that, in their abstruse and often disturbing totality, they seem to want to arrest the passage of time.
