Tatiana Trouvé’s multi-part sculpture plays with several features of Surrealism; the materiality of cardboard resembles concrete. Empty cartons were folded into fully rounded figurations. Next to these hardened forms, Tatiana Trouvé placed shoes cast in bronze, suggesting an absent figure. The arrangement of the four-part work on a large flat base intensifies the impression of someone gone missing.
