Jochen Weber’s bench creates a place from whose vantage point the park can be seen as a panorama. This piece of furniture is naturally at the same time a sculpture that, based on its design, is not immediately readable as such.
A rhythm of vertical and horizontal struts define the work whose broad reach is associated in a very different way with the motif of a reclining figure. It is an invitation to visitors to linger there and simply succumb to absorbing views of the park.
Jochen Weber lives and works in Hamburg.
