Skulpturenpark Köln

Jan Kiefer (b. 1979 / Germany) lives and works in Basel (CH). In his works he is interlinking topics of pop culture with traditional craftmenship. His treatment of materials based on extensive field research leads to conceptual sculptures and installations which are dealing with ancient and contemporary narrations of human inventions and rituals. He presented solo exhibitions at Kunsthaus Baselland (2013), Zabriskie Point, Geneva (2016), and Kunstverein Salts, Basel (2017), amongst others.
